Boston Red Sox
This ball club is no longer cursed, except by the lingering presence of the New York Yankees. The Boston Red Sox is one of the oldest and most storied franchises in Major League Baseball, notable for its 86-year championship drought popularly attributed to "The Curse of the Bambino." The team broke The Curse in 2004 when it won the World Series, its sixth MLB title. Throughout its struggles, though, the Sox have continued to enjoy strong support from hometown fans at venerable Fenway Park, the oldest pro baseball stadium in the country. The franchise was founded as a charter member of the American League in 1901; it has been owned by John Henry since 2002.
